Muchenje River Lodge was created as a peaceful retreat on the banks of the Zambezi, where travellers can slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the quiet beauty of Namibia’s far northeastern corner. What began as a simple riverside escape has grown into a warm, welcoming lodge known for its tranquillity, its people, and its deep connection to the Zambezi.

Our Location

Just 30 km outside Katima Mulilo, the lodge rests beneath tall riverine trees overlooking the broad, shimmering Zambezi River. Here, mornings begin with birdsong, days unfold at a gentle pace, and evenings settle into golden sunsets drifting across the water.

Muchenje is owned and run by William and Amy Blair, supported by a dedicated local team who bring heart, knowledge, and true Namibian warmth to every guest interaction. Many of our staff have been with the lodge for years, and their pride in this place is felt in every detail.
